Control Valves

A control valve is a valve used to control fluid flow by varying the size of the flow passage as directed by a signal from a controller. This enables the direct control of flow rate and the consequential control of process quantities such as pressure, temperature, and liquid level.

CFD is being applied by major valve manufacturers in broad applications like flow performance evaluation, cavitation’s prediction, noise prediction, torque prediction and to study the different geometrical effect for efficient performance.

Characteristic and performance prediction of control valves are done experimentally which gives very little insight into flow physics. Along with prediction of valve characteristics, CFD gives detailed flow physics and chance to improve the design.

We are specialized in CFD analysis of various types of valves including globe, ball, and butterfly valves.
